App Insights Co-Pilot
a plain-language read of this page & where to look next
How your iOS or Android app is doing: which versions people run and how fast a new release is adopted, OS spread, installs vs updates, launch time, crash-free sessions, and why each crash happened (reason and stack, symbolicated with your dSYM / R8 mapping). For app sites, iOS and Android (GhostStat SDK 1.1+; crash details 1.2).

Stability
Crash and hang counts come from the phone itself. On iOS only from devices whose owner shares analytics with app developers, so there they are a floor, not every crash; on Android 11+ from every device. Nothing about the person reaches GhostStat.
Why it crashed
What is sent: the reason the phone gives and the stack of the thread that crashed (class and function names, files, lines). Never exception messages, what was typed, other threads, memory or logs.
Symbol files
iOS: the dSYMs of each release (Xcode → Organizer → the archive → Show in Finder → dSYMs folder, zipped). Android: app/build/outputs/mapping/release/mapping.txt with its version name and code; native code: the unstripped .so files.
.zip of .dSYM folders, a mapping.txt or a .so. Already-received crashes are updated straight away.
Upload from your build (CI)
Make an upload key, then send the files after each release build. The key is shown once; GhostStat keeps only a fingerprint of it.
